Barcelona are planning to go on a shopping spree in January with Chelsea's Ashley cole being high on their transfer hit-list.
The 'Daily Mirror' reported that coach Pep Guardiola’s priority is a left-back and £12 million Cole fits the bill (https://bit.ly/qYGIXI).
Cole, 31, is Guardiola’s first choice, but he has yet to convince Barca president Sandro Rosell to make a move.
The European champions have opted for a cheaper option although they are long-term admirers of Tottenham’s Welsh winger Gareth Bale whose price tag is high.
England star Cole was a target for Real Madrid last summer but Chelsea refused to sell him.
The Spaniards also want a keeper, and Guardiola is an admirer of Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny who is flattered by the interest shown by the La Liga giants.
Barca have also been eyeing Bolton’s Gary Cahill but the England defender is expected end up at Chelsea.
